Rakita closed her locker door, her literature book within her paws. The tabby flinched as she saw Gareth behind her, his claws tapping against each other. Gareth shot the girl a sheepish grin. Confused, Rakita smiled back. This went on for about thirty seconds before Rakita spoke.

“What do you want?” She asked. Strangely, Gareth fell to his knees, appearing as if he was going pray. Although she knew that he was gonna beg her for something.

“My paren's wan' 'o marry me off.” Gareth started. Rakita shot a confused look.

“They can do that?” Rakita asked. The canine nodded.

“It's 'he way of my people, Raki'a. A' 'he a random age, selec'ed by my paren's, I'm meant 'o wed 'o a woman of 'heir choice. Unless I have a girlfriend, I'll be engaged for marriage.” Gareth replied. Rakita shot up her paws in a defensive matter. She already had a boyfriend! One that she loved and knew loved her back. There was no way she'd dumped him just to play pretend for someone she just met.

“Gareth... I'm sorry. I just can't pretend to do something like this. Ask Dixie or some other girl.”

“I asked Dixie and she said no! Please Raki'a, your my only 'ope! I'm no' ready for 'hings like marriage.” Gareth begged. Rakita shook her head. Part of her just couldn't do it. It broke morals she was raised to by, unlike some females within reality (yes fourth wall breakage!).  An idea then popped into her head.

“Gareth... I'm sorry. Even if I agreed, I barely even know you. It wouldn't be easy for me. Why not just tell them you do not wish to be married so young?” Rakita reminded. Her and Gareth exchanged looked. Then the two friends blankly laughed out of loud.

Truth? Their teenagers! They know the truth won't set them free.

“Any other ideas...?” asked Gareth once his laughter died down.

“One. Where's my brother?”

“In the library with Dixie, helping her with her chemistry.”

Maybe in more ways than one.” Rakita thought, giggling at her joke.

“Why your brother?”

“I've got a plan.”

Bright Dawn High Library

Dixie laughed as Xavier pushed his startled sister into a wall. He hissed, claws unsheathed.

“You want me/him to what?” Xavier and Dixie asked. They two were hoping that the feline wasn't serious about her quest. A hope that was proven quickly wrong.

“I want Xavier to dress up like a girl, pretend to be Gareth's girlfriend, and try to keep his family from marrying him.” Rakita restated. Xavier let go of her, shook his lowered head. Gareth motioned behind him, extending his arms. He converted his arms into a wig and dress to simulate his feline companion as a girl. The two females snickered at Xavier. He looked rather convincing and quite beautiful as a girl; several cat-calls from several male students confirmed this. Xavier hissed at the boys, one of them doing a tiger growl as response.

“I won't do it! This would be a compete failure! A 100% chance of failure!” Xavier shouted. The librarian made a quick hushing noise, the feline lowering his voice.

“Come on bratha. If you don't do I', I be married off 'o some woman my paren's chose. 'hat means I can't help with keeping Brigh' Dawn safe.” Gareth reminded. Rakita and Dixie nodded in agreement.

“Come on sweetie. The two of you have been friends since you met. Rakita was right in choosing you.” Dixie added. While Xavier was the only who knew Gareth as well as he knew himself, she also wanted to dress her boyfriend up. At the least, it'll be a fun experience for them to look back on. Well... maybe not for Xavier.

“PLEASE!” The three begged. Xavier shifted his view into the other direction. Part of him didn't want to do something so deceitful and pointless. Although something else spoke. Part of him actually to try this. It was strange but, he should do it. To be with Gareth as more than as a friend.

I'm not gay! While I've never had a problem with those who are homosexual, I refuse to be. I am with Dixie.” Xavier shouted in his mind. The ragdoll then looked into his friends and sister's pleading eyes. After a deep inhale and exhale, he gave them his response, “Fine. I'll do it. Just please...Rakita, Dixie don't go overboard. I only want to look present able as a female.”

Rakita and Dixie exchanged sideways glances, then smiled brightly.

“We promise,” replied both Dixie and Rakita. This was going a fun night.

Rakita's Room

Gareth entered the room, his phone in hand.

“Alrigh', ma paren's wanna meet at ma place tonight at nine. Is she ready?” Gareth asked. Rakita tossed Dixie the blonde wig she had at the story's beginning. Dixie placed it on her boyfriend's head.

With that done, both females let out a hearty, “She's ready!”

Rakita and Dixie turned the chair around, Gareth dropping his jaw as Xavier blushed.

“Do I look plausible? Or did my sister and girlfriend just fuck up the plan.” Xavier asked. Gareth remained silent for a brief moment, although it was more like he was frozen in time. The feline sighed.

“I'm ugly as a female, right?”

“Not at all.” Diana said, walking into the room with Charles. While the former gave their son a slight grin, as oppose to the latter who simply didn't know how to respond to this. Soon he found a response in the form of slapping his paw against his forehead.

First we dress him up as a girl while he's a kitten, now he's crossdressing. Smooth move.

“Why is my handsome son now a beautiful lady?” asked Diana kindly, although there a hint of confusion. Rakita gave in and explained the situation. She explained how Gareth was going to be married off unless they convince his parents he was in a steady relationship. Also reminding them that only Xavier knew Gareth well enough to answer any questions that the Shepard's parents might ask. As well as rather than risk the possibility of his parents rejecting gay marriage, they dressed her brother as a woman.

“WOW!” was the only thing both parents could say. They partially wanted to tell Gareth to be honest with his parents. That the truth would set him free as oppose to resorting to a comedy cartoon-level trickery such as this. However, they had to laugh at this. Hopefully this would end nicely.

Charles, left paw covering his eyes, “Rakita, promise me you'll never suggest crossdressing as means to an end! Xavier, promise me you'll never agree to something like this.”

“I promise.”

“Father, you mustn't worry yourself. I swear that I'll NEVER again in my LIFE do this. Regardless of the reason.”

“Understood. By the way... you actually look cute as a girl... son.” Charles somehow felt compelled to say, “Now if you'll excuse me, I-I-I-I need to lay down.” Charles then exited his daughter's room. Diana eyed her new 'daughter', catching the camera that Dixie tossed her.

“Dixie!” Xavier shouted, a bright light blinding him for a short time. Diana smiled at the photo of her crossdressing son, grinning softly. The female had plans to show this photo to her friends and, if she was lucky, her future grand children.

“Don't leave. Come downstairs so I can get pictures of Xavier with you guys.” the ordered Diana gave to the teenage animals. Rakita, Dixie, Gareth, and with severe regret, Xavier nodded. Diana then left the room. This was gave Xavier the chance he opportunity he needed to look into his sister's mirror. He then gasped at what he saw.

The corset Rakita and Dixie forced upon him altered his figure immediately into an ideal feminine shape. He poked the silicon breast with paw his, wondering what type of school would provide their female students with this. He easily ignored the false eyelashes, blonde hair that Dixie was currently brushing, and the pink ribbon around his tail. His lips had been painted black, the same color as his eyeshadow. Xavier was forced into a wearing a gray and black patterned sundress. He eyed this claws, grimacing as his sister had painted them pink. He looked down at his hind paws, covered with dress socks and mary jane shoes.

“You guys didn't truly attempt to match me did you?”

“What'd you expect, I haven't really touched a make-up kit since I moved here.” Rakita replied.

“And I hardly ever wear Make-up. I'm more of an all natural type of girl.” Dixie added, the others nodding in agreement. Rakita and Dixie didn't need make-up to look pretty. The two already were beautiful, even if the former didn't attempt to show it.

The tabby wrapped her arms around her brother, “Your like the sister I've always wanted.”

Xavier snarled at his half-sister, “I hate all of you right now.” Dixie joined her friend and kissed Xavier's cheek

“But you're so pretty! A man who swallows his pride to wear dress is kinda sexy,” whispered Dixie. Xavier lowered his head, blushing. Gareth turned the other way, head also lowered. He didn't want to admit it or even say, but he fought his life long friend attractive as a girl.

I'm not gay! Gareth get your head in the game.” The canine thought. When he turned around, he met Xavier's glare, “Let's get this over with...”

“Rita.” Rakita replied. Xavier shot her a fast look, “That's the name you'll when under this disguise. Xavier is just far to much of a boy's name to me.”

Her brother shrugged his shoulders, joining his friends downstairs. Near the door was Diana, camera within her paws. Her son's face fell. How could forget the pictures his mother was planning to take? Xavier tried to run away, only for his sister and his fake boyfriend to grab him, both smiling.

“It'll be fun.”

“I really hate you all and this plan!” Rita muttered. Diana took about five pictures before letting Gareth and Rita leave. Rakita, Dixie, and Diana smiled at the photos: the first was Xavier and his sister standing side-by-side. Then it was followed by one was of Dixie and Xavier. The third was of Diana kissing her pretend daughter. The fourth photo was of Diana, Rakita, Xavier, and a reluctant Charles standing together for a family photo. That one was something that Diana considered to use as a Christmas card, although Rakita had already decided to email this to her old friends. They would be in complete laughter.

The final was the cutest one, it was of Gareth and Xavier. The latter had his backside against Gareth's chest, whom had his paws wrapped around him. The sham female had his paws over Gareth, strangely smiling. Out of the five photos taken, this was the only one he seemed happy to take.

“Let's go get these photos developed!” Rakita exclaimed, her step-mother and Dixie nodding in agreement.

Gareth's Home

“Will ya s'op fidge'ing with ya butt? It's kinda weird...” Gareth whispered. Xavier groaned, grabbing his butt and yanked it up and down a bit.

“These panties my sister made me wear are riding up.” he replied. The canine placed his key into the door and opened it. Xavier instantly turned to his friend. He was surprised to see the inside of the house.

The interior design was completely foreign to anything on Earth. On each visible wall there were about sixteen different religious symbols, ranging from the Cross to the symbols of Taoism. As Gareth and Xavier entered, the feline saw there was no television or family photos. Only strange ruins, hinting at possible believers in magic. Also there a thick set of books on a table. A different canine breed, a husky held a book within her paws.

“Still reading Mom?” Gareth asked. His mother turned to him, smiling at the other 'female' present. She closed her book then placed it on the table.

“Salutations my dear. I'm very pleased to have you present within my home.” Gareth's mother turned to the sham female, “It would appear as though you are accompanying us at our meal time. Very well, Siracle shall prepare another plate.”

“Thank you.” was Xavier's response, “I'm Rita, Gareth's-”

“Girlfriend? So my son has a girlfriend. A cute one at that.” An older version of Gareth proudly said. The sham-female blushed and lowered her head.

“Thank you, Mr. Gwydion.” The canine's father chuckled.

“Mr. Gwydion is father. Call me Siracle, Ms...”

“Rita. Rita Gato.” Xavier answered. Siracle raised an eyebrow at the girl's last name.

“Gato? Are you of Hispanic origin?” Gareth's mother asked, the feline turned to her. She pondered about the question for a bit before coming up with an answer.

“My family's heritage seem to spread from all over the world; it'll be hard for me to pen-point our exact country of origin.” Rita answered. The elder canine nodded. At the least, his son's girlfriend sounded smarter than the one they chose for him.

“Smart and pretty? Rare to find an American girl who fits both.” A dalmatian commented as she entered the room. Rita turned to her 'boyfriend', puzzled. How many different breeds of canines were within his friend's family? “The name's Gina and you are?”

“Rita! Rita Gato.” Rita answered. Gina flatten her ears. The canine herself had brought home a girl name Rita to get out of her arranged marriage, however, it failed and she was married off. Gina tapped her brother's shoulder as she left.

“I wish you the best of luck. As for me, I'm going to meet my hubby at the library.” Gina stated, her voice rather sadden when the word 'hubby' came up. The sham-female gazed into the eyes both Gareth and his brother, a bit stunned at what he had seen. The sister seemed to be filled with bitterness and resentment towards her marriage. Perhaps her match truly didn't care for her?

Gareth was similar, yet there was an unknown emotion stirring within him. Pity? Scorn? Accepting of his sister's fate? Or maybe he felt that his 'girlfriend' won't let him down? Whatever the case was, it was enough to make him place his paws over Gareth's paws. Gina, Siracle, and Gareth's mother seemed to happy to see this. Despite not knowing that Rita was a male, it was joyous in a way to see someone have such an interest in their son/brother.

“Well enjoy yourself daughter. Siracle, is dinner prepared?” Gareth's mother asked. The answer she was provided with was yes. Although the answer was since he had never been told of Rita's preference in food, he prepared everything their heritage had to offer.

Entering the kitchen, Rita's eyes widen. The food present was either strangely prepared or just unheard of. For example, sitting at the end of the table was a discarded lamb's head, sickly green colored meat within it. As Xavier eyed other strange concoctions, such as a fried cow udder or what appeared be a taco with shark meat in it, Siracle patted him on the back.

“Don't be a stranger dear. If you're gonna be a part of the family, you gotta get used to our customs. Including feasting upon traditional meal served in honor of a possible marriage.” Siracle stated. Rita turned to Gareth with a look saying help me.

“Fa'her, s'e never feas'ed upon food like this. We usually either ate out or ate at her place.” Gareth quickly said. The canine then lower his muzzle to Rita's ear, “Just try it. It's not as bad as it looks.” Soon the four took their seats at the table. Gareth and Siracle sat on one side, Rita and Miskita (Gareth's mother) sat on the other side.

Rita grabbed one of the shark tacos from her plate, sniffing it briefly. After taking a quick bite, her taste buds felt different. This strange taco tasted exceeded anything she had ever tasted. After sampling other items on her plate, Rita gave Siracle a satisfied look.

“The food is marvelous; I've never tasted anything as delightful as this.” Rita said. She rose from her chair and bowed to the Gwydions. The three canines giggled, Miskita showing off a warm grin.

“Thank you my dear. Our last guest didn't share the same opinion as you did. However, he wasn't worthy to be a member of our family,” her expression harden and she continued, “But are you worthy to join our family? That's what we must find out. So would you mind if we ask a some questions?”

Xavier shot Gareth a fast look, the canine nodded. Other than lying about his gender, it was safe to be honest about his family and their occupations. With the exception of Rakita's identify as Magi Cat.

“What would you like to know?”

“Well for starters, what do your parents do for a living? Also are your parents... as awkward as it sounds strange or gay?”

“My mother and father are female and male. Mother is a housewife while father resides at Steel Corp as one of their top level engineers.” Rita proudly stated. Siracle and Miskita seemed impressed by this. The mother played her role within the home as the father played his role outside the home. Judging by the job they had done with Rita, there was obliviously a certain level of discipline and love that her parents provided. It was certainly more than they've seen with other females at her age.

“Siblings?”

“I have a sister. However, she's from a previous relationship that her mother and our father just couldn't work out. Honestly, my sister has only moved in for about two days.” Rita answered. Siracle and Miskita nodded in response. Interest in Xavier's sister rose a little suspicion between the two.

“Why did she move here? Doesn't know how dangerous Bright Dawn City is towards newcomers?”

“Rakita moved for reasons she won't tell anyone other than Father, but even he doesn't speak of it. Also I know full well that sister is capable of handling herself,” Rita lowered her head, “Can we get off the topic of my sister? It's feels a little like you're more interested in her than me...”

Miskita sighed, giving her possible daughter-in-law an apologetic expression, “Sorry dear. We just need to know whether or not you are the most suitable mate for our son. Our last guest had a brother so we did the same.”

“Like Miskita said, we need to ensure that our children receive the most suitable and compatible mate we can find. It's important to our people that we do this,” Siracle continued, “So what are your hobbies? Ambitions?”

“Whenever I'm not with Gareth, I work in the basement, and build gadgets. Gadgets that I hope will be of great service to Bright Dawn City. Not just the city, but the entire world.” Rita eyed her plate as she said the last part. Neither the sham-female or her fake boyfriend noticed the grin on the parents faces. In the back of their minds, they felt as if this one was of use to their plan. However, only time would tell if she was worthy or not.

“Well Rita, I think we've heard all needed to hear.” Siracle paused, Miskita nodded in agreement, “Then our decision is final. You and Gareth are engaged, only to be married at the age twenty-six.” Siracle gave his soon-to-be daughter-in-law warm grin. “Until then, enjoy life. Marriage comes much faster than you.” Rita instantly shot out of her chair and bowed to the two adult canines.

“Thank you. I promise to make you proud!” The sham-female stated. Siracle and Miskita nodded, snickering at Gareth's girlfriend's reaction.

“We look forward to it.” The elder male turned to his son with a stern appeal, “Walk the lady home. Your mother and I have things to discuss.”

“Yes fa'her.” Gareth smiled as he gestured for her to follow him. Xavier followed, happy to know that that his friend won't be married off at a younger. As the two began the short journey to Xavier's home, the feline just realized that he had a girlfriend! Now he was engaged to be married to Gareth under a false female persona!

“I hate Rakita so much!”

Meanwhile, Gareth's parents sat at the dinner table, amused but enraged all the same.

“So Gareth brought home a male? Kinda saw that coming.” Miskita mumbled. Her spouse sighed, eyeing the many religious symbols they held within their household.

“Male or not, it doesn't matter. He chose his mate so by our people's tradition, we must accept it. However, he chose one that will prove quite useful in the near future.”

“When does the plan begin?” The husky wondered. Her spouse stood at the window, looking beyond the skies and stars. Siracle turned to her with his response.

“Once Steel Corp is dealt with, we'll make our move. Our enemies are both them and this Magi Cat that's appeared on the news recently. I'd prefer it if both sides are destroyed in the battle to come, although, I'll gladly be fine with trying to convince Magi to join our cause.” Siracle answered. With Magi's power and Xavier's brain, everything would go according to plan. Maybe even better than planned.

Even if Xavier tried to run away, it wasn't going to hard to locate him. Within his foods were tiny microchips, GPS style chips. The devices won't cause the feline any physical pain, however, they cause minor stomach cramps. Even if the doctors tried to locate and remove them, they couldn't. There was no technology on Earth that's advanced enough to locate them.

Without even knowing, Xavier had joined the Gwydion family.

“Welcome.” A voice that spoke deep with the feline said.
